What is CCC?

CCC is not your typical “program” that provides a fixed service, project, or activity. Rather CCC is a “process” that seeks to improve cancer care services by helping people work together.

CCC recognizes the importance of bringing everyone together to better use limited resources

CCC can focus on any area of cancer prevention and control – from preventing cancer from occurring to improving the quality of life for cancer patients and their family

Why is CCC important?

It is more difficult for one single individual, tribe, organization, or agency to reduce the cancer burden alone than working together

By working together we can:
determine shared priorities and goals
share resources more efficiently
address overlap of services
learn from each others successes and challenges

How does CCC work?

Members of the Northern Plains Cancer Coalition meet in-person and by conference call to do such activities as review cancer priorities, discuss needs and challenges, educate each other about existing programs and services, and create partnerships.

Through the Northern Plains Cancer Coalition efforts, they developed a regional Cancer Plan. This plan is the foundation of the program’s activities.

NPCCCP offers a limited number of community grants to tribes who want to implement cancer control activities for their community.

The Coalition has several workgroups based on priority areas to tackle issues and challenges in cancer control and prevention. Learn more about what workgroups currently exist and their activities.
